  The Sheraton University City:
  Through special arrangements made by IRCS on behalf of the workshop, the Sheraton University City will be offering discounted rates to workshop participants. The Sheraton is located at 36th & Chestnut Streets, just two blocks from IRCS. Workshop participants may reserve rooms at a discounted rate of US$99.00 per night (single or double, taxes and service charges not included).
  NOTE: While it is possible to make reservations on-line from the Sheraton website, the special workshop rate only applies to reservations made by fax or phone. Please mention Linguistic Exploration Workshop when faxing/calling to make your reservations. Space may be limited at the hotel, so please try to make your arrangements as soon as possible.

• Getting to the Sheraton or U.Penn campus from Philadelphia International Airport:

  The most cost-effective way is to take an Airport Shuttle Service. When you get to the airport, go to one of the Centralized Ground Transportation Counters in the baggage claim area where there will be a selection of shuttle services to choose from. The Sheraton University Hotel suggests the Lady Liberty Shuttle Service (tel. no.: 215-724-8888), which charges $8 for a one-way trip from the Airport to the hotel, or to a destination around the U.Penn campus. Dial '27' using the free phone at the Ground Transportation counter to arrange for a Lady Liberty shuttle, or check at the counter for other available shuttles.

  A cab ride from the Airport to the Sheraton or the U.Penn campus costs a flat rate of $20. Taxi dispatch is available 24 hours a day.

Meals

• Lunch and Refreshments:
  The workshop will provide lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well as refreshments throughout the day.
• Conference Dinner at the Palladium:
  There will be an evening conference dinner on Wednesday, the evening of December 13th (the second evening of the workshop). This will be held at the Palladium Restaurant, located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. All conference participants are invited to attend. Further directions will be provided during the workshop.
• At other times, workshop participants will be responsible for their own meals. These include breakfasts, lunch on Friday, and dinners apart from the night of the Conference Dinner. Check this link for an idea about what and where to eat: Places to eat around U.Penn campus
• Informal Pre-Workshop Gathering:
  On the Monday evening of December 11th before the start of the conference the next day, workshop participants already in Philadelphia are invited to meet up at Shula's Steakhouse, the restaurant/bar of the Sheraton University City hotel. This event will not be paid for by the workshop, but will provide a good opportunity for participants to meet and interact prior to the start of the workshop.
